Piano Inspections

— one of the most important services
that a Registered Piano Technician (RPT)
offers to acoustic piano owners, or buyers, or sellers
Acoustic pianos are 10,000 to 13,000 part physical machines! These “piano machines” have more parts in them than any other machine existing in our world today! A jet plane engine, for example, has only about 5,000 parts.
During this Inspection, an RPT examines many subjects covered in the section “Piano Repair Subjects“, and issues such as age, manufacturer information, finish condition, operation of pedals, integrity of case, soundboard, bridge, etc.
All of these issues are important, for different reasons, to anyone who plans to repair, or buy or sell a particular piano.
Note: This same inspection information is needed, whether you need to tune or repair a piano, or buy, or sell a piano!
A Registered Piano Technician (RPT) will usually charge about $100 for such an inspection, and then will usually credit this amount of money toward any work that might be done at the choice of an owner or buyer or seller.
